I went to a free concert/poetry night hosted by my school’s very poppin’ spoken word org, Babel. The group The Striver’s Row were the featured artists next to the singer Matisyahu. I had never heard of either prior to the event but after that night they were all I wanted to talk about. Anyway this man, Carvens Lissaint took the stage and announced that he was abstaining until marriage to have sex. The crowd went dead silent when he said it lol it was kind of funny. But It was such a breath of fresh air to hear a man in this day and age say that. I could see a lot of people in the audience giving him nods of respect. Then he dropped this BOMB of a poem and had me on the edge of my seat, snapping yelling and being shamelessly ratchet lol. I couldn’t contain myself though, it was awesome! Just check it out. The poem is about his wedding night with his wife.
